The price of a new boiler depends far more on the work than on the appliance. A straight combi-for-combi swap in the same position is the cheapest job we do; converting a conventional system to a combi, moving the boiler, or adding a system filter, new pipework and a smart control all add cost. Betaflo installations start from £1,895 fully fitted, and we give you a fixed price before any work begins rather than an estimate that moves on the day.
Boiler pricing is one of the least transparent parts of our industry, and it is the question homeowners ask us first. The honest answer is that no one can give you a real figure without knowing what is already in your house — but you can absolutely understand what you are paying for before you speak to anyone.

Why two quotes for the same house differ
Most of the difference is scope, not margin. One quote includes a magnetic filter, a system flush and a new gas supply run; another assumes the existing gas pipe is adequate and leaves the old sludge in the system. Both are quoting for a boiler. Only one of them is quoting for an installation that will still be running well in ten years.
The type of job matters more than the brand
- Combi replaced with a combi in the same position — the quickest and cheapest job
- Combi moved to a different wall or room — adds pipework, flue and making good
- Conventional system with tanks converted to a combi — removal of the cylinder and tanks, new pipework, usually a two-day job
- System boiler with an unvented cylinder — higher cost, but the right answer for larger homes with more than one bathroom
Warranty is part of the price
Longer manufacturer warranties are usually tied to the boiler being installed by an approved installer and serviced annually. When to call a professional
Safe homeowner checks stop at pressure gauges, radiator valves, controls and visible pipework. Anything involving gas, combustion, the boiler casing, the flue or internal components is work for a Gas Safe registered engineer. If you smell gas, follow the appropriate emergency gas safety guidance and do not attempt to work on the appliance.

Sometimes, if it covers the same scope. Check whether cleaning, a filter and any gas supply upgrade are included before comparing figures.
Does a more expensive boiler last longer?
Not automatically. Installation quality, system cleanliness and annual servicing have more influence on lifespan than the badge on the front.
